1. Introduction
CCC Impact B.V. (KVK 90941284), registered in the Netherlands, operates thejiangbriefing.com. This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, store, and protect your personal data. We are committed to transparency and to complying with the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) and other applicable data protection laws.
2. Data We Collect
We collect the following personal data: email address (provided during registration), name (if provided during checkout), payment information (processed by Stripe — we do not store credit card numbers), usage data (pages visited, features used, collected via server logs), Telegram user ID (if you join our Telegram channels), and IP address (collected automatically by our hosting provider for security purposes).
3. How We Use Data
We use your data to: deliver intelligence briefings and alerts via email and Telegram, process subscription payments through Stripe, improve our service based on usage patterns, send transactional emails (welcome messages, payment confirmations, service updates), and respond to support inquiries. We do NOT sell, rent, or share your personal data with third parties for marketing purposes.
4. Third-Party Services
We use the following third-party services that may process your data: Stripe (PCI Level 1 compliant payment processor, headquartered in the US with EU data processing capabilities), Vercel (web hosting, US-based, with edge nodes globally), Sanity (content management system, EU/US-based), Resend (email delivery service), and Telegram (messaging platform). Each service has its own privacy policy governing how they handle data.
5. Cookies
We use essential cookies only, necessary for the functioning of the website (session management, user preferences). We do not use advertising cookies, tracking cookies, or third-party analytics cookies. No consent banner is required as we only use strictly necessary cookies as defined by GDPR Article 6(1)(f).
6. Data Retention
Your account data is retained for as long as your subscription is active. After subscription cancellation, we retain your email address for up to 30 days to facilitate potential resubscription. After that period, your data is deleted upon request. Payment records are retained as required by Dutch tax law (7 years for financial records). You may request immediate deletion of your personal data at any time.
7. Your Rights (GDPR)
Under the GDPR, you have the right to: access your personal data and receive a copy, rectify inaccurate personal data, erase your personal data ("right to be forgotten"), restrict the processing of your data, data portability (receive your data in a structured, machine-readable format), and object to processing based on legitimate interests. To exercise any of these rights, contact us at privacy@thejiangbriefing.com. We will respond within 30 days as required by GDPR.
8. Data Security
We implement appropriate technical and organizational measures to protect your personal data, including: SSL/TLS encryption for all data in transit, Stripe's PCI-compliant payment processing (we never see or store your card details), access controls limiting employee access to personal data, and regular security reviews of our systems and third-party integrations.
9. International Transfers
Some of our service providers (Vercel, Stripe) may process data in the United States or other countries outside the European Economic Area. Where such transfers occur, we ensure adequate safeguards are in place, including Standard Contractual Clauses (SCCs) approved by the European Commission and the service provider's adherence to recognized data protection frameworks.
10. Children
Our Service is not directed at persons under the age of 16. We do not knowingly collect personal data from children under 16. If we become aware that we have collected personal data from a child under 16, we will take steps to delete that information promptly.
11. Changes to This Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. Significant changes will be communicated via email to all registered users. The "last updated" date at the top of this page indicates when the policy was most recently revised. Your continued use of the Service after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
